Jammu East MLA and party Chief Whip Rajesh Gupta started the work of the construction of deep drain nallah at Canal Road near Commerce College in Ward no.19.The estimated cost of the work is rupees 17.50 lakhs.
Rajesh Gupta was accompanied by PWD officials including AEE Rajesh Sharma and JE Sanjay Sharma.The BJP leaders who accompanied the MLA included Rajesh Dogra, Vinod Gupta, Anil Gupta, Sunil Gupta, Narinder Aggarwal ,Brij Lal and Kartar.
Leaders of the Canal Road Traders Association Naresh Puri,Varinder Uppal,Ankush Gupta, R.P.Sharma,Mohinder and Maanta were present on the occasion to welcome the MLA Rajesh Gupta.
The deep drain nallah has been a big problem for the residents of the area as whenever the rains come there is water logging in the entire Canal Road area.
Rajesh Gupta while speaking on the occasion said that the construction of the nallah is a huge priority keeping in view the problems that the residents of the area face as a result of the blockage of the existing drainage system.
Rajesh Gupta while interacting with the residents of the area said that the pace of the developmental works would be maintained and would receive a further boost with the BJP having won the JMC elections.
Rajesh Gupta while speaking on the occasion said that the Canal Road is the educational hub of the city and our endeavour is to maintain high degree of cleanliness and hygiene in the area.
Rajesh Gupta advised the business men of the area to provide best services to the student community who come from different areas of the state.
