Jammu, Apr 18:
The Dogra Sangathan has urged the Governor Satya Pal Malik to act against the erring officers of school education and Legal Metrology department whose friendly approach against the violators has encouraged the private schools to openly fleece the gullible parents on the name of providing education to their wards.
The way the management of private schools are fleecing the parents with impunity it only reflects that Fees Fixation Committee, Director School Jammu and Legal Metrology Department miserably failed to protect the genuine concern of aggrieved parents.
Interacting with the media, President Dogra Sangathan Amit Kapoor stated that large number of parents are crying over the unjustified move of several schools to hike their fees without seeking any compulsory approval from FFC besides charging amount under those heades which were strictly prohibited by the FFC.
Lambasting the school education authorities, Dogra alleged that there is loud hue and cry against private schools for unapproved hike in tution fees and annual fees but the officials of Director School Education, Jammu as well as fee fixation Committee prefer to remain mum over this open loot of private school managements for some obvious reasons. Further giving details Dogra said that state government has formed Fees Fixation Committee to check the private schools from raising unjustified fees hike without approval. The FFC has also constituted teams of Directorate of School Education Jammu as well Kashmir to made surprise checking in schools to thwart any attempts of school managements to fleece parents.
But these teams prefers to stay inside Air Conditioner Conditioner rooms and prefer to shut their eyes towards the organised loot of private educational institutions in sheer disobedience to the ruling of Jammu and Kashmir High Court which has debarred the private school managements from making fees hike without the approval of Jammu and Kashmir Fee Fixation Committee.
He blamed the fee fixation Committee also for its lackaidiscal approach towards those schools who are blatantly increasing fees at their own.
Further giving details, Dogra said that with the connivance of Deputy Controller Legal Metrology Department Mr Manoj Prabhakar and book sellers almost private schools have transformed their premises into temporary shops and indulged in profiteering activities with forceful selling of note books and text books at exorbitant prices. Stating this practice as extortion, he blamed the concerned officials of LMD and Director Shoot Jammu Ms Anuradha Gupta for their failure to stop it for reasons best known to them.
Their are allegations against the LMD Deputy Controller Manoj Prabhakar that several complaints were dashed by aggrieved parents regarding selling of books inside school premises but instead of stoping this profiteering , he issued a press statement in the media by penalizing some schools with paltry amount so as to continue there shops of open loot in Jammu for some obvious reasons.
Demanding strict action all corrupt officers of those departments who are associated with patronising loot on the name of education, Dogra urged Governors Satya Pal Malik to intervene in this matter of urgent public importance so that general public could be saved from unbridled greed of corrupt education system.
