A rousing welcome was accorded to the newly appointed vice President Choudhary Abdul Hameed at PDP head office in Jammu with party functionaries and activists extending full support to the leader. The function was organized by Sh. F C Bhagat General Secretary of the party. Addressing leaders, functionaries, activists, and workers, Choudhary said that the PDP founder Mufti Mohammad Sayeed founded PDP with a sole objective to get the state out of the sordid conditions and accord them the rights they were craving for since decades.
The PDP vice President said that it was the outcome of the earnest efforts of the PDP founder that the people of the state who had to bear the brunt of institutionalized corruption, anarchy, and nepotism, are now looking forward to witness new horizons of peace and stability. He added that when the PDP formed the government in the state post-2002 elections for the first time, there was a major change witnessed in both the political as well as in the administrative set up of the state. Choudhary said that the PDP is the only party which has been keeping all the three regions of Jammu and Kashmir intact and united while prioritizing for the equitable growth and fulfillment of the regional aspirations all across. Asserting that the main aim and objective of the PDP is to guarantee peace and stability in the state, Choudhary said that the PDP’s earnest efforts in making the Jammu and Kashmir a hub of peace and tranquility could be gauged by the fact that on all fronts, PDP made strenuous efforts to empower youth, strengthen the democratic institutions and make the administration accountable to the general masses. Also, the recently appointed additional spokesman Dr Harbaksh Singh (Shanty) also stressed for the greater coordination between the party’s leadership and ground workers stating that every party functionary is duty bound to take party’s mission to the ground among the masses. The leaders who were present on the occasion include F C Bhagat, R K Bali, Fallail Singh, Romesh Koul, Surjeet Kour, Nizam-ud-Din Khatana, Master Tasaduq Hussain, Murtaza Khan, Bhushan Lal Dogra, Rajinder Manhas, Shafiq-ul-Rehman, Sukhvinder Singh, Varinder Singh Sonu, Satpal Singh Charak, S S Sarngal, R K Pardesi and several others.
