JAMMU, July 17:
Young Handball trainees of District Coaching Centre Udhampur interacted with visiting former international Handball player and retired coach from Sports Authority of India (SAI), Indradeo Sharma.
Remained goal-keeper of the Indian handball team while playing for Services between 1982 and 1990, Sharma shared his experiences with players and their coaches.
During conversations, he told the players that sports help one channelize the energy in a positive direction and also earn a livelihood.
He imparted tips to the upcoming players while advising them to keep on working hard to achieve desired results in life.
The highly decorated athlete, Indradeo has to his credit, while playing for Services, 11 Gold and a Silver in the Nationals. He was coach of Indian National Handball men team for 1st South Asian Championship in 1996 and also coached the Army Boys for Dogra Regiment Center, Faizabad.
Star of handball and an Army man, Indradeo Sharma was later honoured by the Handball lovers of district Udhampur, Ajit Singh, Rohit Khajuria, Sourabh Pandit and Karun Magotra as also Ravi Kumar and Vipin Photra, both Handball trainers of J&K State Sports Council.
