After the film, Hansal and Kangana parted away and never talked to each other due to the controversy that emerged due to the film’s writer-editor allegations of Kangana interpreting his work. But recently, after the trailer launch of Thalaivi, Hansal praised the actress for her acting in the film. With this, a user asked Hansal Mehta to name the greatest woman actor working in Indian cinema, “Who’s the greatest woman actor working in Indian cinema today, according to you? No explanations or qualifications needed. No limits on language or genre. One name.” On which director tweeted with Kangana Ranaut’s picture. Well, it seems like he wins Kangana’s heart as the actress tweeted, ”Hmmm mujhe pata tha payaar toh karte ho … magar pata nahi chupate kyun ho.” On which, Hansal reverted with the Baazigar film song Chhupana Bhi Nahi Aata.Hansal Mehta and Kangana Ranaut have worked with each other in the film, ‘Simran’. Although, the actress indulged in controversy when Apurva Asrani, the film’s writer-editor claimed that Kangana grabbed all the credit for his work and changed his version of the film. After that Hansal said that, ”I sometimes wish I never made it. There was no need. It was an unnecessary aberration in my career. It makes me sad, it could’ve been a much better film.” Although he further said that ”he holds no bitterness for Kangana and even enjoyed her company off the sets.”
