Jammu and Kashmir Homeguards- Civil Defence celebrated its 56th Annual Raising Day here at SDRF 2nd Bn Hqrs.
The function was organized under the supervision of Commandant General of HG/CD & SDRF J&K, V.K Singh and Addl. Director General of Police HG/CD & SDRF J&K Munir Ahmad Khan.
(SSP) I/C Dy. Inspector General Homeguards/ Civil Defence, Ranjit Kanwar presided over the function.
In his address, Ranjeet Kanwar highlighted the need and purpose of creation of Homeguards& Civil Defence and said the twin organizations were formed to act as first responder of natural and manmade disasters. He appreciated the role of Homeguards/Civil Defence Volunteers for their dedication shown during various rescue operations.
He also readout the greeting messages received from Governor J&K Satya Pal Malik, Advisor to Governor J&K Vijay Kumar, Chief Secretary J&K, BVR Subrahmanyam, Principal Secretary to Govt. Home Department J&K, R.K. Goyal, Commandant General HG/CD & SDRF J&K, VK Singh and Director General of Police J&K, Dilbag Singh on the eve of 56th Raising Day of HG/CD.
The function was attended by the Dy Controller CD Jammu Anita Pawar (Dy.SP), Naseem Akhter (Dy.SP) 3.0 to DIG HG/CD Jammu, CD Wardens/Volunteers of Jammu, officers/ officials of SDRF 2nd Bn. Jammu and number of Civil Defence Wardens/ Volunteers and Homeguards Volunteers of Jammu.
Earlier, SDRF2nd Bn, Dy.SP, Hafizullah welcomed the guests and invited Ranjit Kanwar to convey the message to the participants.
