JAMMU, June 01:
Government High School Sohanjana bagged boys’ under-14 Tug of War title in the inter-zone competitions of district Jammu started today under the banner of Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) at Green Fields ground, here.
In the final, GHS Sohanjana trounced New Gandhi Memorial Higher Secondary School Miran Sahib. Earlier, in the semifinals, New Gandhi Memorial beat New Public Brilliant HSS R S Pura 2-0 while GHSS Sohanjana trounced Unique Public HSS Gadigarh 2-0.
Meanwhile, the under-17 Tug of War title went to New Public Brilliant HSS R S Pura, who beat New Gandhi Memorial Miran Sahib 2-0. Semifinals: New Gandhi Memorial beat Government GHS Sohanjana 2-0 while New Public Brilliant R S Pura trounced Unique Pubic HSS 2-0.
The inter-zonal boys’ cricket competition also got underway at Parade Ground, here. The Results: Under-14: Marh zone bt Bhalwal zone; Gandhi Nagar zone bt Miran Sahib zone. Under-17: Bishnah zone bt Dansal zone by four wickets.
In all, 448 boys drawn from 14 zones of Jammu district are taking part in the cricket. Earlier, the competition declared open by Joint Director DYSS, Madan Lal in the presence of district officer, Chanchal Kour.
