A Hindi Kavi Goshthi was organized by Viraj Kala Kendra (VKK) and Hindi Sahitya Mandal (HSM), Jammu at the Auditorium of The Institute of Accountants of India, Jammu where young and senior poets recited their poems in Hindi. Dr. Arvinder Singh Amn, former Additional Secretary, J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages was the chief guest whereas Sh. S K Sharma, former Commissioner, Income Tax was the special guest on this occasion. Dr. Nirmal Vinod, prominent multilingual writer, presided over the programme. Sh. Sanjeev Bhasin, Vice- President, HSM-J shared the dais. A large number of intellectuals and writers attended the programme.
The programme started with the formal invitation of guests to the dais by Sh. Sanjeev Bhasin, Vice- President of HSM-J who also welcomed the guests, poets and the audience. He also gave a brief of the activities of HSM-J. While speaking on this occasion, Dr. Nirmal Vinod appreciated the presentation of various genres of poetry on various issues related to social, political, religious and economical as well as life situations in the contemporary world. In his presidential address, Dr. Nirmal Vinod expressed his satisfaction that the young poets had been in good number in the day’s programme. He appreciated the qualitative poetry presented in general during the Kavi Goshthi. Dr. Arvinder Singh Amn appreciated VKK and HSM for bringing forth the young talent of the region and create an environment of their interaction with the senior poets. In his address, Sh. S K Sharma also expressed his views on the poems presented in the programme. He said that some of the young poets have shown their talent during the Goshthi in an excellent way.
The poets who presented their poetry in the Kavi Goshthi, included Dimple Verma, Sita, Rajiv Kumar, Rajiv Sharma, Sanjay Rohmetra, Sushant Sabharwal, Tarun Charak, Vageesh, Sanjay Kapil, Sofia Jangral, Savita Khajuria, Rajendra Narang, Rajneesh Gupta, Minto Dutta Sharma, Uma Sharma, Inderjeet Singh Pujari, Rakesh Abrol, M S Kaamra, Jang S. Verman, Pushpa Bharti, Chanderuday Sharma, Shyam Bihari Juneja, Dr. Aruna Sharma, Sheikh Mohd. Kalyan, Sanjiv Bhasin, Prof. Ashok Gupta and Dr. Nirmal Vinod.
The proceedings of the programme were conducted by Smt. Uma Sharma, Literary Secretary, HSM-J and Sh. Sanjeev Bhasin, Vice- President, HSM-J. The programme ended with vote of thanks by Jang S. Verman, Publicity Secretary, HSM-J.
