ICDS Project Akhnoor under the presence of honorable Mission Director ICDS, J&K organized a rally on the theme BADLAV- Beti Apki Dhan Lakshmi Aur Vaibhavi. The event was organized in the premises of Govt. Boys Hr. Sec. School Akhnoor under the overall supervision of CDPO Akhnoor, Ms Kanika Gupta, Jr. KAS. The Chief guest on the Occasion was Mission Director, ICDS Projects J&K, Mrs. Neetu Gupta and Guest of Honor was Deputy Director, ICDS Projects Jammu, Mr. Atul Gupta and Programme Officer, ICDS projects Jammu, Mrs Natasha Kalsotra. SDM Akhnoor Gopal Singh, SDPO Akhnoor Mr. Varun Jandiyal, Municipality Chairman Akhnoor, Mr. Suriender Sharma and BMO Akhnoor Ashok Kumar were also main guests at the event
The event unfolded with lightning the lamp after which a sign campaign was done where all the dignitaries showed their support for the cause by signing BADLAV banner. Cultural Programme was organized wherein emphasis was laid on ‘Women Empowerment.
Speaking on the occasion, Mission Director ICDS Projects J&K stressed upon “NARI SASHAKTIKARAN.” She stressed upon bringing a change in the mindset of people regarding the way they think about women. She also mentioned about the theme of international women’s day this year which focused upon Choose to Challenge.
After that, the rally was inaugurated by planting sapling by the Chief guest and guest of honor. The Rally was flagged off by Mission Director Ms. Nitu Gupta along with other dignitaries. The rally proceeded with various slogans on Beti Bachao Beti Padao. The main participants in the rally were all the officials, AWWs/AWHs along with school students. The event concluded with the Vote of Thanks by the CDPO Akhnoor and later on refreshments were distributed among the participants. During the whole event covid SOPs were properly followed. Other guests present were Ward members Municipality Akhnoor. Other Participants were Staff of ICDS Akhnoor, AWWs/ H and school students.
