A special interactive session with son of the soil Lt. Gen. P.S. Mehta AVSM, VSM (Retd) was organized by Interaction Forum Jammu Province (IFJP) at Jammu.
The prominent participants include Hari Om Singh former District and Session Judge, B.R. Chandan former Additional Advocate General, Master Tasadiq Hussain former Legislator, Sudhir Singh Dogra former IGP, CRPF, R.S. Mehta former Director, Mohammad Usman Salaria Senior Advocate J&K High Court, Capt Lalit Sharma IFS former APCCF, B.S. Jamwal former Dy. Commissioner, B.C. Raina trade Unionist, Com. Bhagwan Singh, Col Bana Ram, Kr. Baldev Singh Ex-Naval Officer, H.S. Baloria former Excise Officer, Nakul Sharma Advocate, Gitanjali Advocate, Kailash Nath and Dr. Y.P. Sawhney.
Capt Lalit Kumar Sharma, Secretary General of IFJP at the outset elaborated upon the aims, objectives and activities of the Forum and introduced the guest lecturer to the house.
Gen Mehta gave a detail talk on the J&K issue touching the social, political, strategical, tactical, military, administrative and humane angle. He said liquidation of militancy has to be followed with political solution. While going into the genesis of the Kashmir issue he covered the historical, geographical, ethnical, social and economical aspects. He called upon the intelligentsia of the State to pool their wisdom and come up with the probable solution of the issue.
He further said that aspirations of all the regions of the State are of imperative necessity for reaching to the solution. He appealed for maintaining the age old fraternity, brotherhood and communal amity at all costs.
While binding up the discussion B.S. Jamwal chairman IFJP thanked the participants for their valuable views.
He said people of all the three regions of the State are stake holders in settling the Kashmir issue and emphasized upon to remain alert and cautious that the brotherhood and communal harmony is not allowed to be disturbed.
