IFJP welcomes CM’s decision of exempting women from stamp duty on property purchase

Interaction Forum Jammu Province (IFJP) in a meeting presided over by its Chairman B.S Jamwal has lauded the decision of the State Government headed by Mehbooba Mufti, Chief Minister J&K for exempting the women of the stamp duty from 5.25% to 0 % towards the purchase of property in the state. The IFJP termed this decision of the government a step forward to the women empowerment in the state. The decision shall go a long way in strengthening the economical status of the women and inclined them as an important player in the family assets and their participation in family role.
This decision will also enable the women of the state to acquire social security in the society and a sense of belongingness. The Forum took forward for similar women friendly gestures in future as well, especially more participation of the women in representative character of the government and the governance.
The IFJP felt that Madam Mufti being a woman can well understand to aspirations of the women folk. The Forum also urged upon the Chief Minister to redress the issues and grievances of the agitating Anganwari workers and helpers with the same women friendly spirit ensuring they are not subjected to further victimization. Prominent among those who attended the meeting were Capt. L.K. Sharma, Ashok Sharma, Vinod Sharma, H.S. Balouria, Dr. Y.P Sawhney, Rajeev Jandyal and Sarabjit Singh.
