Inspector General of Police (IGP) Jammu Zone Mukesh Singh (IPS) visited mendhar in poonch district to review the security scenario of border areas here today. the IGP was accompanied by Deputy inspector general of police rajouri-poonch Range vivek gupta ,senior superintendent of police (ssp) poonch ramesh kumar angral (jkps). During his visit IGP Jammu zone took a joint Security review meeting in which officers from Army, Intelligence and Police participated. Discussion was held on the recent terror module of JK Ghaznavi force busted by the Police and the army in the past few weeks and guidelines were provided regarding further investigation of the case. SSP Poonch gave a PowerPoint presentation and briefed the officers on present status of the case and future strategies to thwart the nefarious design of Pak sponsored terrorism.
IGP Jammu visited Police Station Mendher where guard of honour was presented to him. Few public delegations also met him and apprised him about the area.These delegates appreciated the role of Jammu and Kashmir Police in conducting peaceful DDC elections and good work done by Mendher Police in taking action against anti national/social elements. Shri Mukesh Singh-IPS interacted with Police officers and officials and appreciated their role in busting the terror module and urged them to work with more zeal and dedication to wipe out any attempt to revive terrorism in the area .
While speaking to media Inspector general of police (igp) mukesh singh said that,” In the last few month mendhar police alongwith indian army got major success here by arresting terrorists and their newly recruited over ground workers (OGW) with huge cache of arms and ammunitions that is being displayed here.
IGP mukesh singh said that mendhar has been remains peaceful for the last 10-12 years and now terrorists from other side of the line of control (Loc) assembled at launching pads continuously planning to attack religious places here but our jawans are ready for any type of threat.
IGP Mukesh Singh also complimented DIG rajouri-poonch range, senior superintendent of police poonch ramesh kumar angral (jkps) , sub-divisional police officer (sdpo) mendhar zaheer abbas jafri and other police officers for their good work in maintenance of peace and urged them to make further efforts to strengthen police-public relation in the area .
He also decorated officers who received DGP medal recently .Later on, he along with DIG Rajouri-Poonch range and SSP Poonch visited KG Brigade Headquarter and interacted with brigade commander and other officers regarding security situation on the LOC and CFVs.
