Independence Day-2024 Full dress rehearsal held across Jammu division with Patriotic fervor

The full dress rehearsal for 78th Independence Day was held on Tuesday across Jammu division with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervor.
At Kathua: The full dress rehearsal for 78th Independence Day was held in Kathua at Sports Stadium where contingents comprising of Police, CRPF, Army, NCC cadets presented the march past.
The rehearsal started with hoisting of National Flag by Additional District Development Commissioner, Kathua, Surinder Mohan Sharma followed by inspection of the parade.
In his address, the ADDC extended greetings to the public on behalf of the district administration. He encouraged the young children to explore various fields while contributing to the nation’s technological progress and playing a vital role in achieving the vision of a ‘Viksit India.’ He also made a heartfelt appeal to the participating contingents to give their best in Independence Day events, including Tiranga Rallies.
On the occasion, a scintillating cultural programme featuring the rich cultural diversity of the country and tribute to freedom fighters were presented by school and college students.
ASP Kathua, Paramjit Singh, ACR Vishav Pratap Singh, besides other senior officers of district administration was present on the occasion.
At Poonch: Additional Deputy Commissioner, Poonch, Tahir Mustafa Malik hoisted National Flag and inspected Parade during Full dress rehearsal for Independence Day Celebrations at Sports Stadium Poonch.
During the inspection of the parade, Dysp operation, Aijaz Ahmed was also present with the Additional Deputy Commissioner.
Additional Deputy Commissioner took the salute to the march past presented by the contingents of security forces including, Belt forces, NCC Govt. Degree College, Poonch, YSSO, Degree College Poonch, different school students and Band Party.
Dysp, Sayeed Aqeel Shah was Parade Commander while Inspector Aman Sharma was 2nd in Commandant. The Additional Deputy Commissioner expressed satisfaction over the performance of parade contingents and arrangements being put in place for the celebrations of the National Day. He also urged upon the parade contingents to show their performance more skillfully and enthusiastically on the scheduled day so that the event can be celebrated in a smooth, faultless and in a successful manner. During the programme, Children, Students from various government and private schools of Poonch city and its peripheries participated in the rehearsal for cultural shows to be presented at the district level function of Independence Day to be held at Sport-Stadium Ground. Tehsildar Haveli, Dysp Head, Kuldeep Sharma, DYSSO, Mool Raj Uttam, Anchol , Pardeep khanna and Vijay Kumar besides administrative and sports officers were present on the occasion.
At Samba: Full dress rehearsal for Independence day celebration was held at Rani Suchet Singh Stadium, Samba, showcasing a preview of the grand spectacle to be presented on Thursday. The rehearsal serves as a precursor to the actual Independence Day parade scheduled for August 15, reflecting the meticulous preparation for a vibrant display of patriotism and national pride. Deputy Commissioner Samba, Abhishek Sharma, hoisted the National Flag during the rehearsal, took the salute from the parade commander and participating contingents, and inspected the parade formations. Addressing the participants, DC Samba congratulated them and emphasized that “15th August is not merely a date; it embodies the emotion of the public and the sacrifices of our national heroes.”
The parade featured contingents from various forces, including the Police, IRP, JKAP, CISF, Ex-Servicemen, Home Guard, JKP Band, JK Scouts & Guides, Army Piper, NCC, and students from different schools across District Samba. In addition to the parade, students presented colorful cultural programs, featuring national patriotic songs and popular local tunes, which captivated the audience and received widespread applause.
Among the dignitaries present at the event were SSP Samba, Vinay Sharma, ADDC Champa Devi, ADC Suresh Sharma, ACR, GM DIC, CPO, CEO, Heads of Departments from various line departments, students, media persons, and officers from other security agencies.
At Udhampur: Additional District Development Commissioner, Udhampur Rajinder Singh took salute at an impressive march past of 30 contingent drawn from J&K Police, SKPA, NCC and Civil Scots besides Police Band, took part in a full dress Rehearsal at Government PG Degree College (Boys )Udhampur.

Speaking on the occasion, the ADDC congratulated the participants in general and public in particular on the eve of upcoming Independence Day. He added that we got freedom from colonial rule after a prolonged struggle and said Independence Day is not only a National Day but it is such an important day which has bound our country of diversities into a single whole. He reiterated that this day reminds us the sacrifice of countless freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for the dignity and freedom of our motherland. The ADDC also highlighted the various achievements registered by different departments during the current financial year. He informed that the Government of India has launched a various social welfare schemes and appealed the people to come forward and avail the benefits of these schemes.
As many as 09 theme based cultural performances of different educational institutions including private schools also participated in the full dress rehearsal on the occasion. At Reasi: The vibrant spirit of patriotism and unity echoed through the General Zarowar Singh Sports Stadium as a resplendent full dress rehearsal held today in anticipation of the 78th Independence Day celebrations. ADC Kulbushan Khajuria, presiding over the event, took the salute amidst an impressive march past featuring contingents from Police, CRPF, and platoons of NCC cadets, accompanied by the stirring melodies of the Police Band. Adding a cultural flair to the celebration, students showcased scintillating performances encompassing themes of patriotism, cultural traditions, and folk dances. The audience present on this momentous occasion responded with enthusiastic applause, embracing the rich tapestry of India’s heritage. In a moment of civic pride, ADC Kulbhushan Khajuria presented the District Development Profile, highlighting ongoing projects, programs, and sector-wise achievements of various departments. This comprehensive overview aimed to underscore the district’s progress and future aspirations.
