Srinagar, May 14 :
National Conference Vice- President Omar Abdullah on Tuesday said the INDIA alliance is getting stronger day by day and claimed that his party would win the Srinagar Parliamentary seat for which polling was held yesterday.
“There is no doubt that the INDIA alliance is getting stronger day by day,” Omar told media persons in Uri Baramulla on Tuesday.
The NC vice-president also claimed that his candidate Aga Ruhulla is victorious from the Srinagar Parliamentary seat.
He said the INDIA alliance will also hoist their flag on the Anantnag and Ladakh Lok Sabha seats.
The former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister said, “If we believe the reports about the polling so far held in the country, are in favour of the INDIA alliance also.”
“I am sure that on June 4 the government at the centre will be changed and BJP will be finished”, Omar said and added, “Almighty willing my will is true.”
He said the venom political leaders are spreading during the campaign on the basis of religion, creates tension among the communities and its impact remains there after elections also.
“Whosoever will become the Prime Minister of India, he should remember that he is not Prime Minister of a particular religion,” Omar said adding, “Prime Minister Modi whenever goes on foreign locations often saying that he is representing 140 crore people.”
Replying to a question, Omar said, “If Narendra Modi also walked on foot it would be a good thing, but perhaps it is because the INDIA alliance has received a positive response; I am unsure how.”
He said Rahul Gandhi did march on foot from Kanyakumari to Kashmir and Assam to Gujarat , adding, “If Prime Minister comes down from the vehicle and walks some distance, he knows better…I can’t say.”
Asked that Democratic Progress Azad Party (DPAP) Chairman Ghulam Nabi Azad is campaigning for jailed Er Rashid, Omar said, “Azad must have managed to obtain Delhi’s approval to campaign for Er Rashid, but it is certain that he (Azad) does not even leave his bedroom without Delhi’s permission.”
To another question, Omar said, “We do not advocate for the release of a single prisoner, but rather for all those who are incarcerated outside and whose parents do not even have the financial means to visit them.”
