Jammu, July 07:
Prof.Bhim Singh, Chief Patron of National Panthers Party & Chairman of Indo-Palestine Friendship Society, a senior advocate in the Supreme Court of India urged the Govt. of India to stand by the Palestinians who have been facing bullets and guns from Israel in Gaza (Palestine) ever since the creation of Israel by the United Nations in 1948 under UN Resolution no.181. NPP Supremo visited Palestine and Gaza Strip several times and met the Palestinians as well as official of Israel during his visit to Gaza in 2002 on the invitation of President of Palestine, Yasir Arafat. Prof.Bhim Singh has also written several documents relating to the reign of terror caused by Israeli Govt. right since 1948 when Gaza was forcibly occupied by Israel. NPP Supremo expressed shock on the silence of United Nations on the reign of terror launched by Israel since March 30 this year following which more than 137 Palestinians were martyred by the use of Israeli guns and thousands were injured. Thousands of Palestinians have been driven out of their homes since 1948 in total violation of UN Resolutions.
Prof.Bhim Singh called the present Govt. of India led by Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi to review India’s policy in view of the centuries old relationship with the Arab countries which have stood with India even after Independence. Prof.Bhim Singh said that India must revive its friendly relationship with the people of Palestine in particular and Arab countries in general.
Prof.Bhim Singh said that the people of Palestine have suffered a lot after the death of PLO Chief, Yasir Arafat who had great faith in the Indian leadership which is shaking today under the present government. He said that Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, he knew personally and interviewed him for Doordarshan in the nineties should be persuaded to treat Palestinians as citizens of Palestine so that the people of Palestine shall get all their Fundamental Rights which have been deprived to them by Israel. He declared that the Indo-Palestine Friendship Society shall organise an International Conference in solidarity with the people of Palestine in India in November, 2018.
He also urged Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi to review his foreign policy vis-à-vis Palestine and the Arab world so that Indo-Arab friendship shall be revived and the people of Palestine shall get the State of Palestine with full sovereign rights. The United States of America should fulfill its commitment it had made to President Yasir Arafat during his first and last visit to Washington in 1997 and signed declaration with President Mr. Bill Clinton.
