JAMMU, July 31:
Annual inter-school district level under-19 boys competitions of district Reasi in the disciplines of Volleyball, Kabaddi, Kho-Kho and Wrestling got underway at Zorawar Singh Stadium today.
Around 250 boys drawn from 18 educational institutions of the district are taking part in this competition, organised by the Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS).
Earlier, the competition declared open by Incharge District Officer (DYSS), Jeet Singh, who interacted with the participating teams and officials. Zonal Physical Education Officer (ZPEO) Reasi, Chiter Lekha presented vote of thanks.
The technical penal comprised Jagdev Singh, Naresh Kumar, Rakesh Sharma, Ajay Wadhera, Goutam Koundal, Avinash and Shamim Akhter.
The Results:
VOLLEYBALL: The Volleyball title went to Higher Secondary School Laiter, who beat HSS Pouni 2-1 (25-21, 11-25, 25-21) in the final. Semifinals: HSS Laiter beat HSS Arnas 2-1 (25-22, 18-25, 15-11); HSS Pouni beat BHSS Reasi 2-0 (25-16, 25-15).
KABADDI: In Kabaddi final, HSS Reasi trounced HSS Pouni by a margin of three points with final score being 29-26. Semifinals: HSS Pouni beat HSS Laiter 2-1;
BHSS Reasi beat HSS Agarjitto 2-0.
KHO-KHO: HSS Reasi beat HSS Bharakh by six points in the final with final score being 18-12.
WRESTLING: 46 -50 kg: Pappu Ram, HSS Gota, Ist; Dhanjay Singh, HSS Reasi, 2nd. 50-55 kg: Shiv Om Charak, HSS Pouni, Ist; Mohd Raiyz, HSS Katra, 2nd; Koushal Kumar, HSS Reasi and Anil Kumar, HSS Channa, joint 3rd. 55-60 kg: Sandoor Singh, HSS Gota, Ist. 60-66 kg: Asif Ali, HSS Reasi, Ist and Man Mohan Singh, HSS Dharmari, 2nd. 74 kg: Deepak Singh, HSS Dharmari, Ist and Varun Bhardwaj, HSS Reasi, 2nd.
