International Yoga Day celebrated across Jammu

4th International Yoga Day was celebrated with fervor and enthusiasm at 400 / 220 kV Samba Substation of Power Grid Corporation of India Limted, Northern Region-II. Several programmes were organised in the substation through which benefits of yoga were illustrated to the employees which included a special early morning Yoga session wherein experts from Bhartiya Yog Sansthan imparted training to the participants.
The Rising Star Corps celebrated the International Day of Yoga today at all Stations of Rising Star Corps. All ranks participated with great fervour and high spirit. The objective of this mega event was to encourage troops to imbibe Yoga as an answer to modern day stresses through this ancient yet quintessential heritage of India. The exercises were performed as per the Common Yoga Protocol, in all the stations of the Rising Star Corps.
All stations of the Rising Star Corps had drawn up an action plan with several activities in which participants from all units of the stations were invited to join in large numbers. To commence the day, Open Air Yoga sessions started at respective unit locations with about 13,076 participants (apart from the soldiers, women and children also actively participated in this event.) During the 40 minute session, various Yoga exercises were performed to educate the participants about Yoga and various benefits from it.
This was followed by an awareness brief about health & lifestyle. The Yoga session concluded with all participants pledging to imbibe lessons of physical and mental fitness to lead a stress free and contented life.
Tiger Division celebrated international Yoga day. An hour long programme was held in which huge number of army person participated. The Yoga aasan as specified in the Common Yoga Protocol, given by Minstry of AYUSH, Govt of India were practiced under guidance of Yoga instructors from Bharatiya Yog Sansthan, Talab Tilo, Jammu at various places namely Miran Sahib, Kaluchak, Badi Brahmnan, Sunjuwan & Damana.
Yoga is an ancient system developed over the centuries by the sages of India. Yoga is a system of training of mind, body and spirit for purification of soul and attaining oneness with the supreme consciousness.
The event culminated with a short speech enlisting benefits of Yoga and to make yoga a part a daily life for overall well being.
CII celebrates International Yoga Day Session with Contender fitness Club. The session on yoga focused on the theme “Stress Management through Yoga”. The session had seen participation from corporates of Jammu region.
With the view of increasing stress in today’s corporate scenario, CII collaborated with the club to educate the professionals about various yoga techniques to reduce and manage the stress.
Realizing the importance of Work life Balance, it is very imperative for the working generation to look after their complete well – being and yoga being a legacy of our country, and the benefits it has shown made the entire world to celebrate it as International Yoga Day.
A Yoga camp was organized on the occasion of 4th International Yoga Day at Udhampur by the Army Approx 1000 officers, soldiers and families attended the same with great enthusiasm. Lt Gen Ranbir Singh, GOC-in-C Northern Command and Mrs Kalpana Singh Dhatt, Regional President AWWA also participated.
Qualified Yoga instructors assisted in performance of Yoga and imparted knowledge on the art and science of Yoga, its benefits and its relevance in the present day scenario. Importance of Yoga in disease prevention, health promotion and management of many lifestyle related disorders was shared with all. Aasanas, Pranayam & Dhyan and their benefits were brought out and it was emphasized that Yoga is not just an exercise but a way of life for healthy living.
*INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY CELEBRATED IN BSF CAMPUS*
On 21 June 2018 the 4th international yoga day was celebrated at BSF Jammu Frontier HQ, Paloura, and at various BSF units and Border Out Posts, from 0700 Hrs to 0800 Hrs. IG BSF Sh Ram awtar Ftr HQ Jammu congretulation to all ranks on 4th International day of Yoga. He stated that yoga is both an art as well as a science .He expressed his happiness that many BSF persons have been adopted Yoga as a life style and practicing yoga since a long time. BSF persons and their families have been participating entusiasiastically to commemorate the international yoga day. IG emphasised that Yoga embodies unity of mind and body; thought and action; restraint and fulfilment; harmony between man and nature; a holistic approach to health and well-being. It is not about exercise but to discover the sense of oneness with yourself, the world and the nature. By changing our lifestyle and creating consciousness, it can help us deal with climate change. Let us work towards adopting an International Day of Yoga.
Yoga Day at Palora was attended by approx 700 enthusistic Bordermen.
Central Armed Police Forces celebrated the 4th International Day of Yoga with full enthusiasm here at Group Centre CRPF Bantalab, Jammu. More than 1100 CAPF personnel from various Units deployed in Jammu region participated in the event to make it a success. Officers and men of CAPF practiced various postures of yoga under the supervision and instructions. While addressing the personnel after the event, Shri K Vijay Kumar IG CRPF J&K Zone and Shri A V Chauhan, IG CRPF Jammu Sector emphasized upon the importance and benefits of practicing Yoga daily in our lives. They explained that devoting a few minutes daily to Yoga in our lives eliminate the possibility of numerous diseases and mental stress. They appealed all the personnel to inculcate Yoga as a habit in their lifestyle. Others who were present during the occasion Shri V.K.Singh, IG (Med) CH CRPF, Bantalab, Shri Joginder Singh, DIG, CRPF Jammu Sector Hqr and other officers and men of CAPF. The event was organized impressively under the guidance of Smt. Nitu, DIG CRPF Jammu Range.
