Jal Jeevan Mission poised to resolve water crisis in Kandi belts: Bharat Bhushan

Bharat Bhushan Bodhi, DDC Chairman Jammu, on Tuesday emphasized that the Jal Jeevan Mission, an initiative by the BJP Government, is set to resolve the longstanding water crisis in the Kandi belts of Jammu district. Speaking at the inauguration of the retrofitting work for the Water Supply Scheme Tera, funded under the Jal Jeevan Mission with an estimated cost of Rs 4.9 crore, the DDC Chairman highlighted the significance of this project for the local community. The ceremony took place at Panchayat Choua in Block Bhalwal, Jammu district in presence of prominent persons of the area.
Bharat Bhushan noted that the new scheme will benefit over 5,000 people upon its completion. He also emphasized that approximately 70 percent of the works under the Jal Jeevan Mission scheme have already been completed. The number of initial schemes for Jammu district has been increased from 272 to 283, with a total estimated cost of Rs 1,200 crore. These efforts reflect the government’s commitment to addressing water scarcity issues in the district and across Jammu and Kashmir, he added.
The DDC Chairman expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the continued support of the Jal Jeevan Mission, which aims to resolve the perennial drinking water problems in the Kandi regions of Jammu district. He concluded by affirming that the vision of “Har Ghar Nal Se Jal” (water in every home) will soon be a reality in the Kandi belts.
