UDHAMPUR, Mar 31:
District Jammu bagged both men and women titles in the three-day 21st State Kabaddi Championship which was organised by District Udhampur Kabaddi Association under the aegis of J&K Amateur Kabaddi Association at Subash Stadium, here today.
In the men’s final, Jammu outplayed J&K Police 12-10. Similarly, in the women’s title clash, district Jammu made it a big 55-15 win against district Kathua.
In the finals and valedictory function, Director PDD (Civil Secretariat), Rakesh Jamwal was chief guest, who presented the title trophies as also other individual prizes.
Prominent among those present were Ashok Kumar (Director Sports SMVDSB Katra, Kuldeep Gupta (CEO J&K Amateur Kabaddi Association), Surinder Mohan Gupta (general secretary J&K Amateur Kabaddi Association) and Sangram Singh (treasurer of the Association) and Ankush Chib.
This tournament held under the patronage of president J&K Amateur Kabaddi Association, Anil Gupta and chairmanship of president Udhampur District Kabaddi Association, Sheikh Tanveer Ahmed. General secretary of the district Udhampur Association, Ashok Kumar was overall incharge while Sanjay Sharma was the event coordinator.
Prominent among those who witnessed the finals were Raj Guru, Suresh Khajuria, Gulzar Ahmed, Tariq Shah, Bashir Ahmed and Dr. Vikram Gulati.
The technical penal for the event comprised Ashwani Kumar, Bhim Sein, Kuldeep Sharma, Ajit Singh, Rakesh Kumar, Pushap Sharma, Rakesh Khajuria, Ramesh Chander, Naveen Sharma, Ravi Kumar, Vipin Photra, Pallavi Magotra, Deepak Sharma, Vicky Sharma and Ram Kumar (all officials from DYSS).
