Jammu boys face Udhampur in U-17 Badminton final

JAMMU, Sept 17:
Hosts district Jammu shall be playing against district Udhampur in the under-17 boys Badminton event in the inter-district divisional level (boys) competitions, organised by the Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS), at different venues, here today.
Earlier, in the semifinals, decided today Jammu defeated district Kathua 2-0 while Udhampur outplayed district Samba in similar fashions making it 2-0.
Similarly, in the under-19 age group, district Udhampur has made it to the final and now shall take on district Poonch in the title clash tomorrow. In the semifinals, decided today, Poonch trounced district Kathua 2-1 and Udhampur defeated Jammu 2-0.
The competition is patronised by the Director General, DYSS, Dr Saleem-ur-Rehman and being organised under the chairmanship of Joint Director DYSS, Madan Lal and district officer Jammu, Sukhdev Raj Sharma.
In all, six districts of Jammu Division are taking part in these competitions.
SOFTBALL: Under-19: District Jammu beat Kathua 11-02. Under-17: District Jammu drew against district Kathua. Under-14: District Kathua beat district Jammu 08-02.
CRICKET: The under-129 boys’ final won by district Jammu beating district Ramban by 56 runs.
