Today Jammu Heritage Society (Regd.) organized a programme at Trikuta Nagar, Jammu wherein Chander Mohan Gupta, Mayor, Jammu Municipal Corporation was the Chief Guest and Neeraj Puri Councilor of Trikuta Nagar was the Guest of Honour.
The president of the said society Sh Bhuvneshwar Gandotra welcomed the Mayor & Councilor for attending the function.
Mr. Ajesh Rohmetra General Secretary conducted the proceedings, while Mr. Manish Gupta, General Secretary Chamber of commerce presented vote of thanks. Other members were present Mr. Amit Goel, Treasurer, Mr. Om parkash Mahajan Chairman, Mr. Sanjay Mahajan Secretary, Mr. Ravinder Mittal Executive Member, Mr. Paras Gupta, Mr. Jaswinder Singh Bedi, General Secretary, Railway station hotels and lodges association, Mr. Rajinder Saraf, General Secretary, Shiv market Railway station and Mr. Varinder khurana. A number of demands in the shape of memorandum was putforth by the Heritage Society before the inviting guests for the welfare of Jammu city which includes garbage collection on door to door basis & another in bins collection which may be done by awareness through concerned councilors of respective wards to ensure cooperation by all house owners, over ground bins may be converted into underground bins with sensors so that when they are filled upto70% automatic signal goes for their removal /empty, defunct street lights on flyovers & other major roads from railway station to Channi may immediately be rectified, leakage of PHE water pipes may be got plugged, major heritage building & sites of Jammu may be developed properly besides heritage building of Bahu fort may be clearly made visible for the tourists as well as for general public, Development of more children parks with modern facilities and also Tawi River Front may be undertaken on war footing, to start effective sanitation drive in the city as well as sochalayas to poor & needy persons may be provided to make Jammu defecation free and roads & lanes be developed on the pattern of Ahmedabad & Surat. Moreover presentation on 2nd phase of Raghunath Bazar sanctioned by the Government was also made before the Hon’ble Mayor by the society.
Hon’ble Mayor gave a patient hearing to the demands and assured that most of their demands have already been undertaken by the government which will be fulfilled at an earliest & thanked all members as they are doing tremendous job for the welfare of society as well as for the beautification of Jammu city and cooperate with the Jammu Municipal Corporation to make Jammu neat, clean green and polythene free under Swacch Bharat Mission .
