JAMMU, Sept 17:
Continuing its crusade against prevalent drug menace among the the youth of J&K, Mr Balwant Singh Mankotia FORMER MLA, Chief patron DOGRA KRANTI DAL flagged off Run against drugs from Balidan Stamb in Jammu Today. The marathon comprising hundreds of youth enthusiastically participated in the Run which after passing through Bahu fort chowk-Jammu University road- Bikram Chowk- Dogra Chowk- Vinayak Bazar- Ghumat- Indira Chowk- Shalimar Chowk- Dogra Hall- Kachi Chawni- Panjthirthi, finally Culminated at Heritage Mubarak Mandi. The Chief Patron among other dignitaries distributed trophies along with Cash Rewards to the winners & runners up.
Addressing the young gathering Mr Mankotia launched a scathing attack on Pakistan for spreading the drugs all across the IB & LoC to destroy the life of the youth & for luring young people to subversive & terror related activities. He advised the participants to defeat nefarious design of the hostile nation by saying No to heroine ( Chitta ) which has pushed the life of several youth in darkness. “Say NO to Pakistan’s sponsored Drug menace ,Terrorism and YES to PM Narendra Modi’s Fit India Mission” Pledged Mankotia while administrating Oath to the Participants.
He further pointed out that a person has to undergo three phases of Life i.e Childhood, Adulthood & Oldage. While the children spend the phase being dependent on the parents, old pin their hope with their children for survival but if young people were trapped in drug addiction the meaning & purpose of being young stands defeated. The addict neither contributes to the society nor to the nation & remain dependent on toxic & fatal drugs all his life, Mankotia advised the participants.
Mr Mankotia further expressed his gratitude to thevPrincipals of Ranbir Hr Sec School, Model Academy, Lawrence Public School, Diwan BadriNath, Shiksha Mandir, M.A.M college, GGM Science School, Govt Polytechnic College, SPMR College f commerce, University of Jammu for promoting their students to participate in the mega event. He also thanked J&K administration including J&K police, Traffic Police for making the marathon successful.
During the presentation ceremony ,Mr Kulbir Singh was declared Winner with prize money of ?51,00 & trophy, Mr Balwinder Singh as first runner up with cash prize of ?31,00 & trophy, Mr Sunil Chowdhary as second runner up with prize money of ?21,00 & trophy & Mr Dalvir Singh as Third runner up with cash prize of ?11,00 & trophy.
Chief Patron DKD Balwant Singh Mankotia congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his birthday & wished him success.
