Jammu Police raids 20 Spa centres

Police on Tuesday conducted simultaneous raids in at least 20 Spa centres in Southern parts of Jammu.
Superintendent of Police, Jammu South, Ajay Sharma told reporters that acting on a complaint lodged by an employee working in one of these centres at Police Station Channi Himmat levelling allegations of rape and illegal confinement against the owner, special teams were constituted and simultaneous raids were carried out.
“The raids were conducted in 20 Spa centres operational in Jammu South,” said the SP.
He stated that the raids were also conducted on the directions of SSP Jammu with the approval of the District Magistrate on buildings rented by their owners for commercial

purposes and verification of employees, and workforce engaged in the occupations.
“As of now, no Spa centre has been sealed but the nature of the complaint we received is being verified besides other investigations,” he said.
The SP said that it is also being verified whether any illegal activities are being carried out by the Spa centre operators or not and action will be initiated as per the law.
