JIAR Attend Research Methodology Field Visit and Seminar at CSIR-IIIM

In an insightful field visit, the Post Graduate Scholars of the Jammu Institute of Ayurveda and Research (JIAR), accompanied by Dr. Vandana, Associate Professor of the Department of Samhita and Siddhanta, visited the prestigious CSIR-Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine (IIIM). The visit was a part of their learning experience in Research Methodology and comprised three key sections: the Instrumental Unit, the Quality Control and Quality Assurance section, and the Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) unit.
The scholars were exposed to cutting-edge research facilities and gained first-hand knowledge of the methodologies used in pharmaceutical and medicinal plant research. The field visit provided a comprehensive understanding of the research processes that go into developing safe and effective medicinal products.
Following the field visit, the group attended a seminar conducted by Dr. O.P. Vidyarthi, Retd. Indian Forest Service (IFS) officer and Founder of Tree Talk. Dr. Vidyarthi, a distinguished expert in medicinal plants, delivered an enlightening presentation on the medicinal plants of the Northwest Himalayas, emphasizing the conservation of these plants through the Tree Talk initiative. He highlighted the nutritional and economic potential of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants (MAPs) in Jammu and Kashmir and their significant contribution to the betterment of society.
Dr. Vidyarthi shared his invaluable journey of initiating Tree Talk, aiming to conserve and promote the use of medicinal plants for sustainable development. His seminar not only provided insights into the rich botanical heritage of the region but also underscored the importance of preserving these plants for future generations.
The visit was an enriching experience for the scholars, fostering a deeper appreciation for research methodology and the role of medicinal plants in improving public health and society.
