The Department of Swasthavritta at Jammu Institute of Ayurveda and Research (JIAR), Jammu, organized a two-day educational visit for the 2nd Prof BAMS students of the 2022-23 batch on 13th and 14th October 2025. The visit aimed to provide students with firsthand exposure to industrial dairy processes and enhance their understanding of food safety and hygiene standards.A group of 22 students attended each day, accompanied by Dr. Rajeev Singh, Assistant Professor, Department of Swasthavritta, JIAR. The students visited the JKMPCL AMUL Snow Cap Milk Plant, where they were warmly welcomed by the plant staff.To ensure hygiene and safety, students were provided with surgical head caps and face masks upon arrival. The plant authorities guided the students through the facility, explaining in detail the various stages of milk pasteurization, laboratory testing, and the production process.The educational tour also covered critical topics such as FSSAI standards for milk and milk products, packaging methods, and nutritional differences between various milk types. The interaction offered students valuable insights into the application of public health principles in real-world food processing and quality control.Dr. Rajeev Singh extended heartfelt gratitude to the JKMPCL AMUL team for their hospitality, in-depth explanations, and unwavering support throughout the visit. The educational trip proved to be an enriching and informative experience, contributing significantly to the academic and practical learning of the students.
