Micro Finance and Financial Inclusion Department under the chairmanship of Sh. R.K Chhibberis conductingGovt of India campaignon the theme of “Gram Swaraj Abhiyaan” w.e.f. 14th of April to 5th of May 2018 in theremote unbanked villages of District Jammu, Rajouri, Kathua, Samba & Kishtwar.
Vipan Gupta, Senior Manager, MF&FI Department, J&K Grameen Bank, reviewing the Gram Swaraj Abhiyaana special multi-departmental and multi-sectoral initiative for reaching out to the poorhouseholds in villages of Districts Jammu, Rajouri, Kathua, Samba & Kishtwar.The special initiative will intensively focus on saturation of villages under these programmes vizPradhan MantriJan DhanYojana (PMJDY), Ujala Scheme, PradhanMantri Jeevan JyotiBimaYojana (PMJJBY) and Pradhan Mantri Suraksha BimaYojana (PMSBY).The activitiesscheduled to be carried during the mission period include Samajik Nyaya Diwas(Social Justice Day) on April14th to commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr BR Ambedkar,Swachh Bharat Diwas on April 18th, UjjwalaDiwas on April 20th,Rashtriya Panchayat Raj Diwas on April 24th, Gram Swaraj Diwason April 28th, Ayushmaan Bharat Diwas on April 30th, KisanKalyanDiwas on May 2nd and AajeevikaDiwas on May 5th,2018. The initiative also plans to spread awareness regarding the various schemes of the bank with special rate of interests including Car Loan@8.95%, Housing Loan@8.35% and Transport Loan@9%. The masses will be about technological innovations in banking industry including NEFT/RTGS, Online Banking, IMPS, SMS Banking, Rupay Card, Aadhaar Enabled Payment System & Direct Benefit Transfer etc. to promote the digital banking and move towards the less-cash economy.
The customers of the bank already hailed the initiative of the banks for conducting362 awareness programmes on the theme of “GOING DIGITAL” and Village Level Programmes in remote unbanked villages in the month of February &March 2018 throughout the J&K State.
