Micro Finance and Financial Inclusion Department under the chairmanship of Sh. R.K Chhibberis conductingGovt of India campaign”GRAM SWARAJ ABHIYAAN” w.e.f. 14th of April to 5th of May 2018 in theremote unbanked villages of District Jammu, Rajouri, Poonch, Kathua &Samba .
Vipan Gupta, Senior Manager, MF&FI Department, J&K Grameen Bank, highlighted that the branches doing extensive work in unbanked areas to approach the unbanked individual under the campaignGram Swaraj Abhiyaana special multi-departmental and multi-sectoral initiative for reaching out to the poor households in villages of Districts Jammu, Rajouri, Poonch, Kathua & Samba.The daily campaignaims at spread of awareness regarding the various social security schemes.
The masses also on technological innovations in banking industry including NEFT/RTGS, Online Banking, IMPS, SMS Banking, Rupay Card, Aadhaar Enabled Payment System & Direct Benefit Transfer etc., to promote the digital banking and move towards the less-cash economy.The campaignalso aims at spread of awareness regarding the various schemes of the bank with special rate of interests including Car Loan@8.95%, Housing Loan@8.35% and Transport Loan@9%
The focus is also on APY enrolment, at present bank is touching 8000 APY enrolments. People are also enrolling under GOI insurance schemes like PMJJBY & PMSBY. At present bank is touching 22000 enrolments in PMJJBY and 42000 in PMSBY. In order to enable 100% renewal of existing enrolments under PMSBY & PMJJBY, the SMS are sent to the customers on regular basis for maintaining a minimum balance of Rs.330 and Rs.12 only. At present, the claim settlement rate in the bank is 100%.
The customers of the bank already hailed the initiative of the banks for conducting362 awareness programmes on the theme of “Going Digital” and Village Level Programmes in remote unbanked villages in the month of February &March 2018 throughout the J&K State.
