Addressing the press conference, National Conference local leaders of Gole Gujral thanked the Government of India for sanctioning of Rs. 100 Crore under National Rurban Mission (NRuM) for development of integrated duster villages in Gcle Gujral as per the criteria laid down by Government of India. About more than 3 years back but it is unfortunate and highly regrettable that work under NRum was never started. The work was started when BJP-PDP government was dismissed and Assembly was dissolved. The work was started on the intervention of Ajay Kumar Sadhotra, senior National Conference leader and former Minister and on the persuasion of Youth and workers of National Conference of Gale Gurjal Camp. The leaders expressed their serious concern over slow pace of work and delayed tactics. Ex-MLA Marh and other BJP workers of Marh Block are trying to give priority to their self interests over the development Gole Gurjal. The laiP leaders have been influencing the authorities to promote their self interests which is detrimentai for the development of Gole Gujral. They said National Conference vvill never compromise speedy develnpment Gole Gujrai. National Conference is committed for the development of rural areas especially Gole Gujra during the time when National Conference MLA Sh Ajay Kumar Sadhotra was elected. Lot of development works were done. Major among those are construction of main Nallah, upgradation and black topping of main road, construction of Baghbain Nallah and road, construction of Bridges, sanction of Primary Health Centre and construction of PHC upgradation of High School to Hr. Secondary School and construction of new rooms of the school. Ajay Sadhotra along with National Conference workers of Gole Gurjal played a vital role to save the land of BABA JULIA for the construction of Sports Stadium for the youth of Gole Gujrai. Besides this, so many woks of lane drains, Shamshan Ghat, Hand Pumps, Transformers etc were also undertaken during the tenure of Mr Sadhotra. Number of oidage, widow and handicapped persons were provided pensions. Luckily, Gole Gujral Panchayat is predominated by Transporters, Drivers and Cleaners. face many day to day difficulties. Ajay Sadhotra always helped the Transporters, Cleaners so that the interests of the majority of the people are protected and-4 condition of this class is strengthened and saved from exploitation.
One Hundred Crore Rupees allotted by the Government of India under NRuM should be spend judiciously for the proper and long term development of Gole Gujral. We, by this press conference appeal to the Governor Sh. Satya Pal Malik to intervene to ensure expeditious development of Gole Gujrai otherwise this huge amount allotted by Government of India is going to spend on unproductively. We demand :-(1) Expeditious pace of development of Gole Gujral without any hindrance so that the NRuM project is completed in time and funds are not lapsed ; (ii) All nodal formalities be observed while allotting the works so that state exchequer is protected from going to drains ; (iii) Only the works upto the amount of Rs. 10 lac be allowed to be done by the Panchayat and rest should be put to open tender so that experienced contractors with men and machinery are involved because it is a big amount and supervision of works should be at the level of Chief Engineer as the Rural Development department has no men and machinery and no strong monitoring mechanism.
If the works are to be -done without tender by the -Rural,. Development Department, all these works should be allotted to the UNEMPLOYED YOUTH of Goie Gujral so that the youth, a responsible and dedicated lot of the society having interest towards development of Gole Gujrai shall work expeditiously and give quality work. We appeal all the residents of.Gole.Guiral to please keep vigil on the ongoing works so that the Executing Agencies are not allowed to compromise quality.
