Jammu, Sept, 26:
JKPCC Working President Raman Bhalla today said that Jammu has become a victim of BJP’s politics of vote bank and false promises which were never fulfilled. “The youth were misled with a promise of employment but unemployment increased. As far as development is concerned, it is nowhere,” Bhalla said adding that non-performance of BJP has put people under financial distress. Former Minister Thursday addressed series of election gatherings at Barjala, Gangyal, Rampura, Shergarh Tindey Kalan, Lower Gadigarh, Makhanpur, Simbal and RS Pura Ward-10 in RS Pura Jammu South constituency.
Speaking on the occasion, Bhalla said tourism sector is in worst condition like transport, business, and industrial sector. People are losing their jobs and the Government is not holding recruitment on vacant posts,” he maintained. He assailed the BJP for utterly failing in deliverance, saying the party has lost confidence and mandate of the people of Jammu.
The 2014 euphoria, expectations and fanfare is terribly missing with disdain growing among people due to policy paralysis of the BJP partnered government in Jammu and Kashmir, which is struggling to put its act together after plunging the state into unprecedented political and administrative crisis. He said the people of Jammu are feeling let down and betrayed, as their problems are accumulating with each passing day.
Bhalla said the arrogance of power and lack of governance has distanced the BJP from its core constituency, which is hugely realizing the mistake of putting a bunch of agitators into the cradle of administrators. “For over six decades, the BJP had been exploiting the Jammu sentiment by crying hoarse over the so-called discrimination, deprivation and neglect but when it came to delivering, they just raised their hands”, he said, adding that not only the BJP pushed the region to backwards but also turned out as a big obstacle in its development and progress. In this context, he referred to erratic power and water supply, dilapidated condition of main and interior roads, scarcity of rations, deplorable hygienic conditions and fast crumbling administrative apparatus.
Bhalla referred to protests and strikes of daily rated workers on regular basis and said that while a huge chunk of these people are taking to streets, the general public is suffering on account of utility services. Same is the situation with other segments of employees like teachers and Anganwari workers, who find themselves at the receiving end of BJP’s sadistic behaviour, he added.
“Where has that compassion and love of the self-proclaimed Messiahs of Jammu gone”, he asked, saying the promise of Ache Din is turning out as an unending nightmare. He said the dejection among people is so deep that they don’t even want to go to their chosen representatives with complaints and demands.

Questioning the moral grand-standing of the BJP, Bhalla said that they have nothing to boast about except taking credit for sowing seeds of mistrust between various segments of people in order to further their sinister agenda. He, however, cautioned the BJP not to test the spirit of inclusiveness, saying the people will foil all their machinations by maintaining time tested unity and amity. He said he is committed to transform RS Pura as a model constituency, given its huge potential as economic and tourism hub in the close vicinity of the capital city. “This vision is to be translated into reality”, he said and expressed his gratitude to the people for keeping him posted with innovative ideas about development and abreast with much needed feedback on the implementation of various schemes.

“Together with the support and guidance of the sagacious people of RS Pura constituency, we will achieve the dream of making it a shinning outskirts of Greater Jammu”, Bhalla asserted. He said, ” Congress is committed to honesty and integrity and will not resort to falsehoods or make empty promises to the people. Therefore, unlike BJP, we do not falsely promise the moon and stars. Instead, we promise that Congress party, when given the mandate, will ensure the protection of the rights of Jammu and Kashmir people and bring prosperity and development to the region.”
