JAMMU, Sept 24:
Despite unfriendly atmosphere and security related duties by the players, Jammu and Kashmir Police have earned seventh rank in the just concluded 67th All India Police Hockey Championship at Jalandhar in Punab.
In the quarterfinals, J&K Police lost to star-studded side of hosts Punjab Police. The Punjab Police finished third to earn bronze in the all India competition of the state police and paramilitary forces.
The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) lifted the title trophy beating Border Security Force (BSF) in the final. In the hardliner, Punjab Police defeated Odisha Police. The ITBP and CISF were above J&K Police in the final rankings. In all, there 27 teams representing as many police and Central Para military forces took part in this competition which held under the banner of All India Police Sports Control Board. Earlier, in the league round, J&K Police defeated Gujarat Police 12-01 and outplayed Talengana Police 7-2.
