India adds 25,072 new COVID-19 cases, 389 deaths in past 24 hrs

Jammu and Kashmir Monday recorded one death and 93 fresh positive cases taking the number of total active cases in the Union Territory to 1,054.
With one more death, the death toll in the UT stands at 4,403 and 93 fresh positive cases reported on Monday has pushed the tally of positive cases to 324,295.
Of the exact number of 324,295 cases, 201,481 are from Kashmir division and 122,814 from Jammu division. Officials told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that among 93 new cases, 50 belong to Kashmir division while as 43 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 201,481 including 198,559 recoveries and 2,240 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 122,814 including 120,279 recoveries and 2,163 deaths.
The officials said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 1,054 including 682 from Kashmir division and 372 from Jammu division.
With 203 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 318,838 which is 98.32 percent of the total cases.
“Cases tested positive in J&K include 12 from Srinagar, 07 from Baramulla, 03 from Budgam, 04 from Pulwama, 08 from Kupwara, 05 from Anantnag, 04 from Bandipora, 03 from Ganderbal, 04 from Kulgam and 00 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 43 from Jammu division include 02 from Jammu, 00 from Udhampur, 05 from Rajouri, 28 from Doda, 00 from Kathua, 01 from Samba, 03 from Kishtwar, 02 from Poonch, 00 from Ramban and 02 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.
Meanwhile, authorities on Monday said that no fresh cases of Mucormycosis popularly known as black fungus was reported in the UT and tally stands at 43.
As per officials figures, 71,992 positive cases including 834 deaths and 70,913 recoveries are from Srinagar, 23,816 including 282 deaths and 23,461 recoveries are from Baramulla, 23,067 including 22,805 recoveries and 206 deaths are from Budgam, 15,285 including 15,065 recoveries and 194 deaths are from Pulwama, 14,210 including 166 deaths and 13,997 recoveries are from Kupwara, 16,439 including 16,176 recoveries and 205 deaths are from Anantnag, 9,604 cases including 9,451 and 100 deaths are from Bandipora, 10,073 including 9,940 recoveries and 78 deaths are from Ganderbal, 11,402 including 11,220 recoveries and 117 deaths are from Kulgam and 5,593 including 5,531 recoveries and 58 deaths are from Shopian.

As per the daily information bulletin 3,136,082 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 7,919 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 1,054 persons are in isolation.
According to the bulletin, 2,695,069 persons have completed the surveillance period and 427,637 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 12,948,223 samples are available. Out of 12,948,223 the number of samples tested negative stands at 12,623,928 while as 324,295 have tested positive, among them 1,154 persons are active, 318,838 persons have recovered and 4,403 persons have died
As many as 25,072 people tested positive for the novel coronavirus in the country during the past 24 hours, the lowest in 160 days, while 389 succumbed in the same period, data from the Union Health Ministry showed on Monday.
The fresh fatalities soared the death toll to 4,34,756 which includes 1,35,962 from Maharashtra, 37,145 from Karnataka, 34,709 from Tamil Nadu, 25,079 from Delhi, 22,792 from Uttar Pradesh, 19,494 from Kerala and 18,364 from West Bengal.
According to the Ministry, the active cases declined by 19,474, to stand at 3,33,924. It is now 1.09 per cent of the total caseload.
On the recovery front, 44,157 patients were cured and discharged in the past one day, taking the total recovery count to 3,16,80,626, which is 97.63 per cent of the case tally. The fatality rate remained steady at 1.34 per cent.
The daily positivity rate was recorded at 1.94 per cent which has been less than 3 per cent for 28 consecutive days.
In the last 24 hours, a total of 12,95,160 people were checked for the contagious virus. Cumulatively, over 50.75 Cr (50,75,51,399) tests have been conducted so far.
The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) said that a total of 50,75,51,399 samples have been tested so far for coronavirus. Of this, 12,95,160 were tested on Sunday.
Till now, 58,25,49,595 people have been administered COVID-19 vaccines, with 7,95,543 being inoculated against the virus in the past 24 hours.
