Jammu, Sept 27 :
All the transporters of Jammu & Kashmir under the chairmanship of S.T.S WAZIR(Chairman ALL J&K Transport Welfare Association J&K Jammu) in which the president /Representative of all commercial transport union including Buses, Matador ,Taxies and Auto decided to observe one day token strike on Oct 01, 2018. While addressing a press conference here today, all the transporters of J&K State showed resentment towards the attitude of State/Central Government of India and expressed concern over hike in rate of petroleum products day by day. Wazir stated that the transporters of J&K state are already not in a position to ply their vehicles as usual due to militancy for the last 30 years, disturbances on LOC unrest in Kashmir Valley etc and most our vehicles remained stand still.
They also highlighted several issues which includes Revision in Passenger fare, Harassment by Traffic/Executive police, Problems in RTO Office , Relaxation in passenger tax, Parking at Railway Station, Withdraw of charging of Adda fees from all passengers, goods carriage vehicles ,Tankers, Taxies etc plying on National Highways,
Issuance of fitness certificate for one year period and withdrawal of charging double fitness/calibration fees for those vehicles beyond the age of 15 years old and Double fee for renewal of driving licence.
He further stated that the transporters has approached various times to the state government and also submitted a memorandum tohis Governor of J&K State and also held a press conference in last week in which one week time was given to State Government to fulfill our demands but the state Government is not serious to solve the issue of the Transporters of J&K State and the transporters are not interested to take agitational path but the state Government is forcing us to do so, he added. He said that it was unanimously decided in the meeting initially we will observe one day token strike in Monday i.e. Oct 01, 2018 and later on if demands will not be fulfilled by the government then we will go on indefinite strike and due to strike in connivance to the students community/general public is the responsibility of State Government and no commercial vehicles will ply on road from Lakhanpur to Srinagar.
S.T.S Wazir Appeal to the general Appeal to the general public and Students community to bear with us because State Government is forcing to do so.
