J&K wins 7 medals in Archery

JAMMU, Mar 04:
Jammu and Kashmir Archery teams excelled securing seven medals in twin events of 3rd Para Recurve and Senior National Championships underway at SAI Rohtak in Haryana. As per the reports reaching here, J&K archers clinched a gold, three silver and two bronze medals in different events. Subsequently, three archers, Jyoti, Nisha and Rakesh have been selected for the World Archery Ranking Tournament to be held at Dubai in April. Earlier, Jyoti clinched a gold and silver medal while Rakesh bagged silver and bronze in Para Recurve. Nisha Devi won two bronze medals and Tariq secured a silver. All these archers train at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board Sports Stadium, Katra under the guidance of coach, Kuldeep Vedwan.
The State team took part in the Nationals under the banner of J&K Archery Association and sponsored by the J&K State Sports Council. Meanwhile, the State Archery Association and J&K Olympic Association (JKOA) congratulated the archers for bringing laurels to the State.
