JAMMU, Dec 21:
After losing their opener against Chandigarh, Jammu and Kashmir salvaged some pride when they defeated DAV comprehensively by seven wickets in the league round of the ongoing 64th National School Games under-19 boy’s Cricket, organised by the Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) at KC Public School ground here.
Earlier, batting first, DAV set a target of 99 runs for four wickets in allotted 15 overs.
Rajan remained top scorer with 39 runs while Younis, Kartik and Ashank took one wicket each.
In reply, J&K attained the goal in 14 overs losing four wickets. Sarthak Pearion made highest 28 runs. From DAV, Sarav Rattan claimed two wickets to emerge as the most successful bowler.
Now, in their third and last league outing of group-E, J&K shall take on Daman and Diu at 11.30 at University of Jammu ground.
Meanwhile, in another match, played at Parade Ground, here, Maharashtra defeated Dadar Nagar by 65 runs.
