J&K wins opening Volleyball tie

JAMMU, June 03:
Jammu and Kashmir defeated Jharkhand in opening group match in the 21st Youth National Volleyball Championship underway at Jhunjhunu, Chirawa in Rajasthan today.
As per the reports reaching here, J&K made it a close 3-2 win in best of five game with set score being 16-25, 25-18, 29-27, 11-25, 15-11. Earlier, Abhishek Bhardwaj, Rajan Singh and Sourav Sharma remained in limelight for their superb display of spikes and blocks thus helped the side to win against Jharkhand. Placed in group-A, J&K shall now meet opponents from Rajasthan, Kerala, Himachal Pradesh and Maharashtra in the next outings.
The team is accompanied by Ram Lal Sharma, Naresh Kumar and Anil Kumar as manager, coach and assistant coach respectively.
Meanwhile, president Volleyball Association of J&K (VAJK), Sidharth Daluja congratulated the men team and coach while wishing them better performance in subsequent matches.
