Jammu and Kashmir women’s team excelled with Gold medal won in the 15th Senior Roll Ball Nationals Championship held at Belgaum in Karnataka from November 30 to December four.
In the final, J&K defeated Maharashtra 2-1. Earlier, in the preliminary rounds of the competition, J&K women blanked Haryana 4-0 and Uttar Pradesh 5-0 and trounced Andhra Pradesh 3-1 and Chattisgarh 1-0, a handout issued by the Association informed. Ruhi Rajput performed well throughout the competition while Simran Raina and Ankita Chopra also did a good job for the team. The handout added that the 12 teams in boys and 10 teams in girls section took part in this competition. Meanwhile, chairman of the J&K Roll Ball Association, Anil Sharma congratulated the team for the performance.
The team was accompanied Madhu Sharma and Sudhir Singh, manager and coach respectively. The Team: Simran Raina (captain), Ankita Chopra, Mahima Khajuria, Ishita Singh, Suvidha Sarin, Ashima Gupta, Khushi Gupta, Garvita Gupta, Kavneet Kaur and Ruhi Rajput (goalkeeper).
