The results of Jammu Annual Drama Festival 2018 were announced by secretary JKAACL, Dr.Aziz Hajini at a press conference held here today. While announcing the award winning groups /individuals, the secretary JKAACL appreciated the participants for their enthusiastic participation in the festival, which enjoys the distinction of being the longest such festival in Academy’s history.
During his press briefing the secretary Academy also said that promotion of theater is among the top priorities of the JKAACL.
“In this connection besides enhancing the production cost of full length plays Academy has also launched a regular Nukad Natak series in all the three regions of the State, ” he said, adding every day we see a Nukad Natak being played in the State which is also historic in itself.
The Secretary JKAACL also announced that during the coming day’s theatre festivals exclusively in Ksahmiri and Dogri languages would be held at J&K in association with North Zone Cultural Centre. “The repeat performance of the top best plays from the recently concluded Kashmir theatre festival is likely to be organized on 16th of this month at the Abhinav theatre,” Dr. Hajini announced. Giving further details the Secretary JKAACL said that repeat performance of the 1st and 2nd best awarded plays from the Jammu theatre festival will be organized at Tagore Hall Srinagar in Feb, 2019.
Concluding his press briefing Dr. Hajini also made the announcement that the Academy is exploring the possibility of organizing national theatre festival in the State in the month of Feb, 2019 with a the support of National School of Drama.
