JAMMU, Apr 03:
Members of the J&K Cricket Association (JKCA) in an extra ordinary general council meeting held here today have challenged the unconstitutional acts of the court appointed Chief Executive Office (CEO) and the Administrators for raising a parallel Association in the state.
“The CEO or COA, appointed by the court to settle the disputes among various clubs thereby streamline the sports body in J&K two years back, has formed a parallel body. Furthermore, an attempt has been made to get it registered through Registrar of the Societies,” said former general secretary and senior most member of the JKCA, Arun Nehru while chairing the meeting.
The meeting was attended by members from 18 such affiliated clubs of the JKCA to discuss the unconstitutional working of the Administration and the CEO.
It was also noted by the members of JKCA that the proposed constitution by the genuine members of the society was submitted to JKCA CEO for circulation among the affiliated members, but instead a new constitution proposed and prepared was submitted for registration.
Later, a resolution passed by the members saying, “As the life term of the CEO and Administrators has already expired, there authority and therefore, their continuance to hold office and utilise the funds and assets of the JKCA is illegal.”
It was also resolved to approach the Supreme Court of India and the High Court of J&K to reflect the cause of the Association.
The meeting was also addressed by another senior member, Dr Ashutosh Sharma.
The representatives of at least 18 Clubs from both Kashmir and Jammu were present in the meeting.
