JKFFA celebrates Birth Anniversary of Shaheed Bhagat Singh

Jammu, Sept 28:
Jammu and Kashmir Freedom Fighters Association (JKFFA) on Friday organized a function to remember Shaheed Bhagat Singh, on his Birth Anniversary, at Dogra Shaurya Sthal Amphalla, here.
The function was presided over by the President of the Association Ved Gandotra and R.C Puri, former Secretary Indian Red Cross Society, Jammu and Kashmir was the Chief Guest.
Speaking on the occasion, the members highlighted the life history of Shaheed Bhagat Singh and his associates, who fought for the freedom of the mother land.
Petals were showered on the photograph of Shaheed Bhagat Singh and candles were lit in the honour of the Martyrs. A two-minute silence was also observed and participating guests and students of Luthra Academy, Kachi Chawni.
Speaking on the occasion, the members threw light over the life history of Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru and expressed their thankfulness, as they said that the present Hindustan was breathing in the free air due to their sacrifices.
The members added that the hanging of Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru became a turning point in the freedom struggle and proved as the last nail in the coffin of the British Rule.
The members also remembered Netaji Subash Chander Bose, Rani Laxmi Bhai, Chander Shekhar Azad, Ashfaq Ullah Khan, Bahadur Shah Zaffar, Tantya Tope, Nana Ji and all know and unknown freedom fighters who lost every things on the altar of the mother land to build a free India of today.
“The freedom fighters are a lesion for the youth of today, which was only confined to him-self, in money making and in drug abuse,” speakers said.
They exhorted the youth to come out of drug menace and use all their might and power to eradicate poverty and corruption from the society and also asked them to fight the social evils.
They also asked the youth of the Valley to shun violence, join main stream and help in building a prosperous J&K State.
Others present on the occasion were Rajiv Mahajan, Brij Mehra, S.S Singh, Pritam Sharma, Th. Karnail Chand, Ram Rattan Raina, Sardar Gajan Singh Khalsa, Sardar Sukh winder Singh, Gaurav and Sushil Verma and others.
