Enraged over the highly disparaging remarks of Ex Deputy CM and Speaker Assembly, Dr. Nirmal Singh against the Army, a strong contingent of NPP led by Mr. Harsh Dev Singh JKNPP Chairman and Former Minister today held a massive demonstration at Exhibition Ground Jammu against BJP and its top leadership asking it to tender unconditional apology to the defence personnel. The agitated protestors raised slogans of ‘Indian Army Zindabaad’, ‘BJP murdabaad’ “Nirmal Singh Hai Hai”.
Addressing the media persons, Mr. Harsh Dev Singh said that Dr. Nirmal’s allegations of harassment of people by the Army were highly objectionable and most condemnable. And charging the army of political motivation was even more offending, said Harsh. He regretted that the BJP leadership had forgotten within short period of its three years rule its high pitched slogans and songs that it sang in praise of Army to prove their pseudo nationalism. He said that not only Nirmal Singh but the entire BJP leadership owed an explanation for such outrageous comments against Army made by its senior most leader in J&K who remained the Dy. CM and was now occupying the constitutional post of speaker. Should action not be taken against Dr. Nirmal for speaking the language of separatists and belittling Army, questioned Harsh.
Prominent among those who spoke on the occasion included Rajesh Padgotra, Gagan Partap, Parshotam Parihar, Shanker Singh Chib, Khajoor Singh, Nirmal Kishore, Rajesh Gondhi, Rashpaul Singh, Partap Singh, Mohinder Singh, Rampaul Sharma, Shankaar Singh Sanju, Udhayveer Singh, Vishab Singh, Rohit Sharma, Arun Khajuriya, Shaitan Singh besides others.
