JAMMU, June 12:
Two-day Ist Martyrs’ Memorial Friendship Tournament, organised by the Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) involving teams from Indian Army, Sports Authority of India (SAI), hosts JKP, and other reputed local clubs got underway at different venues here today.
“The competition in being organised by in three teams events of Basketball, Handball and Volleyball at Gulshan Ground and Police Lines grounds, here on the direction of Director General of JKP, Dilbag Singh and ADGP (Armed), S.J.M. Gillani,” Staff Officer (Sports) to IGP (Armed), Dushyant Sharma told SAN.
The event is being held under the overall supervision of IGP (Armed) Jammu, Danesh Rana. “In total there are 15 teams have been involved across three disciplines.
The event is being organised to develop synergy and spirit of competition among different forces while paying tribute to those martyrs of the belt forces,” further said Dushyant, who himself is an international wrestler.

BASKETBALL: Jammu district bt Katra Ballers 67-45. HANDBALL: J&K Police bt Bahu Fort Club 20-14. VOLLEYBALL: Raj Rifles bt KP Club 2-0.
