JKPCC observes death anniversary of Rajiv Gandhi as ‘Seva & Sadhbhavna Diwas’

Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Com mittee (JKPCC) today observed Late Prime Minister of India Rajiv Gandhi’s martyrdom day as ‘seva & sadhbhavna diwas’.
As the Coronavirus pandemic continues to ravage India, JKPCC today distributed food items and other essentials among needy persons across the J&K to mark the 30th death anniversary of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi.
JKPCC leaders also organized a mass mask distribution programme at district and block levels” and distributed food to COVID patients’ attendants at Rajiv Gandhi and Gandhi Nagar hospitals, ambulance drivers, and other needy people.
Paying his rich tributes on the occasion, JKPCC Vice President and former Minister Raman Bhalla said that late Prime Minister was a man with a “tremendous vision .He described Rajiv Gandhi as a compassionate and loving human being, and a man with tremendous vision, far ahead of his time.He said Rajiv Gandhi’s leadership and dreams laid the foundation for modern India. He will always be remembered for ushering in the telecom revolution.He said, “Rajiv ji’s political life was short, but in that duration, he managed to give a new direction to the nation’s progress. He believed India’s unity was strengthened by her diversity.
Rededicating ourselves to his ideals is the best tribute we can offer him, on his death anniversary,” he said.Bhalla claimed that it was Rajiv Gandhi’s vision that dreamed of an India in the 21st century.”He (Rajiv Gandhi) said that the 21st century would be driven by technology, computers and innovation. That vision sparked the economic liberalisation of 1991,” the former minister said.He said Rajiv Gandhi firmly believed that if India is to become a world leader it has to become an economic powerhouse for which “we need to make use of modern technology”.He said Rajiv Gandhi was the hope of the Indian youth. He took the Indian youth and India as a whole into the 21st century.
Let us remember him with pride and honour, a life snuffed out too young but which achieved much in a very short time. Remembering Rajiv Gandhi , Bhalla described him as a visionary and leader of masses, who led the country to progress and inclusive development in every respect.He said, the sacrifices of former Prime will continue to inspire the generations, leading them at the path of unity and harmony .Bhalla said the Nation would continue to remain indebted to Bharat Ratna Rajiv Gandhi for his selfless services and sacrifices, who is credited of taking the prestige of the Nation to the new heights in respect of communication, science technology, education, health infrastructure, defense.
Rajiv Gandhi introduced Panchayati Raj System and it’s implementation turned out to be a milestone in the developmental process of the Country, besides bringing the development at the door steps of the people, which proved a big source of employment generation for the common people at grass root level, he said.Bhalla asked party cadre that the best way to pay homage to Rajiv Gandhi on his death is to serve and work for the wellbeing of the people, besides maintaining brotherhood and communal harmony amongst different communities living in the Country.Bhalla described the departed leader visionary and upright personality under whose leadership the Nation witnessed massive development in every respect.
