JKPS wins U-19 boys Jammu Football title

JAMMU, August 03:   The JK Public School (JKPS) blanked Shiksha Niketan  Higher Secondary School 4-0 to emerge Jammu district champion in the inter-school district level Football tournament, organised by Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) at GGM Science College ground, here today.

Meanwhile, the girls’ under-19 competitions in the disciplines of Kho-Kho, Kabaddi and Volleyball and under-14 and under-19 in football took place today at different venues under the banner of DYSS.

 

KHO-KHO: The Kho-Kho under-19 girls title went to the combined side of Gandhi Nagar-Satwari zone, who beat Jammu-Dansal zone 8-4 in the final played at Government High School Jammu Cantonment grounds. Semifinals: Gandhi Nagar-Satwari Zone beat Akhnoor -Chowki Choura 6-4;

Jammu-Dansal beat Bhalwal-Marh 7-5.

KABADDI: The combined side of Akhnoor-Chowki Choura zone beat R S Pura-Miran Sahib 22-15 pts in the uner-19 girls Kabaddi final played at Government High School Jammu Cantonment. Earlier, in the semifinal, RS Pura-Miran Sahib Zone beat Khour-Jourian 15-5 pts.

VOLLEYBALL: The girls under-19 Volleyball title went to Akhnoor-Chowki Choura zone, who beat Gandhi Nagar-Satwari  zone in straight 2-0 sets at GHS Jammu Cantonment. Semifinals: Akhnoor-Chowki Choura beat Bishnah- Arnia zone 2-0; Gandhi Nagar-Satwari zone bt Bhalwal-Marh Zon 2-0.

 

FOOTBALL: In girls under-19 football event, Presentation Convent outplayed Government HSS Mubarak Mandi 3-2 via tie-breaker in the district level competition held at GGM Science College ground today.

In under-14 girls’ title clash, Army Public School Kaluchak trounced KB Public School 1-0 in penalties.
