Chairman Public Health Sanitation Committee (PHSC) Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) Narinder Singh Jamwal said that the civic body is geared up to provide clean and serene surroundings this festival season.
Singh was addressing a small gathering here at Bawe Wali Mata Temple in Bahu Fort area. He was accompanied by Mayor Chander Mohan Gupta, Corporator Sham Lal, Health Officer JMC Dr. Sanjogita Soodan and other officials of the civic body.
At the outset, the Chairman PHSC JMC extended heartiest greetings to the people on the auspicious occasion of Navratri festival, Baisakhi and Ramzan. He said that JMC has done exemplary work to light-up Jammu during the ensuing festival season with cleanliness becoming the priority and strict vigil against erring traders who never missed an opportunity to fleece people during such festivities.
During the inspection at Bawe Mata Temple, Narinder also gave standing instructions to JMC officials to ensure that lighting system including decoration and street lights is made fully functional so that the historic temple glitters during Navratras. “The JMC has decided to embark on the beautification plan to give a boost to aesthetics in and around Jammu so that Temple City glitters during the festival season”, he said, adding that people this time will feel the difference while moving on roads and streets of Jammu especially in the premises of Bahu Fort, which witnesses horde of devotees during the Navratri festival.
The hard work done by the sanitation staff of JMC to bring in cleanliness in the city surely deserves kudos and people should appreciate the work force of JMC for achieving this feat.
Mayor Chander Mohan Gupta also gave instructions for ensuring cleanliness and serenity during the next 10 days in the premises of Bahu Fort area.
Earlier, Narinder Singh and Chander Mohan Gupta paid obeisance at the Bawe Temple and prayed for peace, prosperity and progress of J&K.
