Residents of Bhagwati Nagar today staged protest demonstration under the banner of Yuva Panthers against JMC for the poor drainage system and dilapidated condition of lanes. The protest was orgnised by Arun Mehra (distt. Vice President YP) & Kapil Dev (Jammu West Vice President YP) in the pressence of Partap Singh Jamwal (state Vice President YP).
Partap Singh Jamwal alleged that Corporator of said ward are not performing their duties and also JMC had been paying no heed to the pathetic condition of the lanes and by lanes, whose condition has been turning from worse to worst. he said that the locals are facing is choked drains. The garbage is scattered here and there due to poor sewerage system. There is a mess in the ward during rainy days. All the dirt and filth cover lanes and enter into their houses making it difficult to move out. Moreover, choked drains give an open invitation to diseases. He said that in normal days water overflowed and entered into the houses of the people. During the rainy season the condition became more miserable as water entered into the roofs of the houses and thus destroyed everything. People on their own constructed walls 2-3 feet so not to be effected .
He alleged that the Ward has no place for garbage disposal and the people are forced to throw their garbage in drains or at any place which with time becomes a dumping point and badly affects the lives. People questioned the newly elected BJP relevancy as corporaters who are deeply sleeping having no concern for issues of public interest .Not a single corporater or JMC officials came to hear public grievances.
Partap demanded immediate removal of garbage and repairing of the drains. They also sought repairs of over flowing dilapidated drains.
