Saying that PM Street Vendors’ AtmaNirbhar Nidhi ( PM SVANidhi) is a special micro- credit facility launched by the Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs under AtmaNirbhar Bharat initiative, Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation, Dr. Devansh Yadav said that the scheme was launched with the aim to provide financial support to the street vendors through working capital loans, incentivize regular repayment, and to promote digital transaction.
Speaking at the event, Dr. Yadav assured the street vendors that their welfare would remain a priority. He also urged them not to set up their rehries on footpaths and roads, as this causes inconvenience to pedestrians and contributes to traffic congestion. He encouraged vendors to install their rehries at designated places within the municipal jurisdiction to maintain a smooth flow of traffic and public convenience.
Among others, Deputy Commissioner, (North) Sanjay Badyal, Deputy Commissioner, (South) Lal Chand and other senior officers were present on the occasion.
