In its endeavour to reach out to the needy & in view of the prevailing situation arising due to outbreak of Covid-19, the JMC continued distribution of Dry Ration Kits to needy and down trodden persons living in the slum areas viz. Poonch House, Talab Tillo and Christian Colony. The ration kits were provided to the residents of Poonch House in the building of Music and Fine Arts and ration kits were provided to the residents of Christian at Town Hall Complex, Jammu. where about 400 no’s of Dry Ration Kits comprising of essential commodities like wheat flour 5kg, Rice 5kg, Dal 1kg, Sugar 1kg, Edible Oil 1L, Salt 1kg, Onion 2kg, and Potatoes 2kg have been provided to the each family living there. JMC has been continuously covering areas in its jurisdiction to provide free ration to people are distressed due to the lock down.
The said distribution of Ration has been personally monitored by Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation Ms Avny Lavasa (IAS) alongwith Secretary & the teams have been entrusted to do the needful & ensure that it is given to the genuine families living in the slums.
Besides, the Jammu Municipal Corporation is undertaking spraying and fogging in all the areas in coordination with Fire Brigade, Jammu falling within the limits of JMC as per the roster on daily basis to stop spreading of COVID-19 and also to maintain proper sanitation and hygiene.
