Apni Party General Secretary, Vikram Malhotra has expressed deep concern over the selective developmental approach adopted by Jammu Municipal Corporation which has deprived the needy and marginalized people within the city from the development.
“The selective approach of JMC and Corporations is highly condemnable and Apni Party will not tolerate discrimination with the people who have no political voice in Jammu,” said Vikram Malhotra, while attending meetings of Christian community.
The meetings were organised at Ward Number 7 in Jammu East and Ward Number 8 in Old Rehari, Jammu West in which a large number of people participated.
President, Apni Trade Union, Ajaz Kazmi, State Vice President, Youth Wing, Raqeeq Ahmed Khan, Youth Coordinator, Vipul Bali, Provincial President, Apni Trade Union, Raj Kumar Sharma, Secretary Women Wing, Sapna Gill, Hukam Chand Andotra, Partap Singh Jamwal, and others were also present in the meetings.
During the meeting, the people highlighted their sufferings and issues of development in their localities.
Referring to their issues, Malhotra assured that he will raise these issues before the concerned authorities and oppose the selective approach of JMC towards the poor people’s localities.
He said that the BJP which claims Smart City project as one of their achievements should know that development cannot reach the people in parts.
“The development should be provided in all areas without discrimination.
The way JMC has closed its eyes over the disparity towards the Christian community is unfortunate and it tells the fate of other areas in Jammu Municipal Corporation,” he said.
He said that the Apni Party will stand with the neglected and marginalized section of society.
“The democratically elected Corporators have also left people hopeless with their selective approach towards the poor people. They consider the workers of their party and allegedly ignore the needy people and their localities with respect to developmental activities and cleanliness,” he said.
He said that “The step motherly treatment of Corporators towards the people is injustice and violation of the constitution of the country which guarantees equal rights of the citizens of the country.”
