Today an awareness programme was organized by Jammu Municipal Corporation on the topic Solid Waste Management in collaboration with Govt. Girls Higher Secodary School, Mubarakh Mandi Jammu.
Principal GGH Sec. School, Mrs. Choudhary Razia presided over the function and welcomed the guests.
The programme started with the bouque presented by Principal to Dr. Zaffar Iqbal, Nodal Officer, Solid Waste Management, JMC after enlightening the candle.
Dr. Zaffar delivered lecture there on Solid Waste Management and very carefully tought the students regarding the organic and inorganic material generated in home. Students were glad to know that the waste from their home can replace into LPG gas.
The Solid from have organic material can be compost within a month by a very simple process of collecting waste in a drum for a month after covering it as stated by Dr. Zaffar. He further enhanced his practical demonstration to the local also and said any person who prepare compost in home will be suitable awarded by the Hon’ble Mayor of JMC and stress the students to do work in this field and get award. Nukkad team has shown a remarkable art to the participates by the sweet singing steps.
They inspired the students with slogans favouring to prepare compost from domestic waste.
Speaking on the occasion, Principal of the School thanked to Dr. Zaffar Iqbal for his tired able efforts to clean Jammu as since months he is working on Solid Waste Management.
Ved Pal Sharma, Ashwani Sharma and others supported the JMC team with all the essential required for demonstration on Solid Waste Management.
