A Joint meeting of Jagti Tenement Committee (JTC) /Soan Kashmir Front (SKF) J&K and PCC Migrant Cell here today under the Chairmanship of Sh. Shadi Lal Pandita, President of JTC/SKF (J&K) & Co-conviner of PCC Migrant Cell.
During the course of meeting the participants have expressed their grave concern over the attitude of Central/State Government for ignoring the Kashmiri Pandit Migrant Community on all fronts.
Pandita has said that the since the price of all essential commodities have gone sky high as such the present cash assistance relief of Relief Holder Migrants does not meet their domestic needs which has added to the sufferings of these migrants. He had demanded that the Government should ensure enhancement in Cash assistance relief to the tune of Rs. 25,000/- per family per month ensuring smooth living of this migrant community.
Shadi Lal Pandita while addressing the meeting said that the Bhartiya Janta Party during past elections had made tall claims for return and rehabilitation of the Kashmiri Pandit Migrant Community in Kashmir valley in safe and secure township but it is unfortunate that no steps in this regard have been taken by both central and State government thereby depriving the community of its basic and fundamental rights.
Pandita has said that this community is living a miserable life in exile for past more than 28 years and has demanded that central Government as well as State Government should ensure measures for bringing up satellite townships in Kashmir valley for return of the Kashmiri Pandit migrant community to Kashmir valley for their rehabilitation.
While addressing the participants Sh. Shadi Lai Pandita has said that the Government should ensure implementation of Prime Ministers employment package in letter and spirit by filling up of remaining posts under this package.
A demand has also been made for sanctioning and release of compensation in favour of the Kashmiri Pandit Migrant families on account of losses suffered by them due to damages to their properties in Kashmir valley during past 28 years of migration.
Pandita has demanded atleast three Assembly seats and one parliamentary seat needs to be reserved for this community with extending minority status.
